Bearings play a key role in steel applications. Here are some key points:

Application in steel production equipment

Ironmaking equipment: In the transmission device of the blast furnace, bearings support various rotating parts to ensure the stable operation of the blast furnace. For example, the rotating mechanism of the furnace top charging equipment requires high-precision bearings to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the charging, and to withstand the test of high temperature, heavy load and dust and other harsh environments. The fan system of the hot blast stove is also inseparable from bearings. These bearings need to operate in a high-temperature airflow environment for a long time, and they must have good sealing to prevent hot air leakage.

Steelmaking equipment: The tilting mechanism of the converter adopts large bearings, which bear huge tilting moment and impact load. The quality of these bearings directly affects the safe production and production efficiency of the converter. The mould vibration device in the continuous casting equipment needs precise bearings to achieve precise vibration control and ensure the quality of the slab.

Steel rolling equipment: All kinds of rolling mills are the core equipment in the steel rolling process, and bearings are the key components of the rolling mill. For example, hot rolling mill work roll bearings need to operate under high temperature, high load and high speed conditions, usually with specially designed high temperature and heavy load bearings. Cold rolling mill roll bearings require higher precision and surface quality to ensure the thickness uniformity and surface finish of cold rolled sheets.

Applications in steel transportation and handling equipment

Belt conveyor: The bearings at both ends of the driving roller and the reversing roller are an important part of the belt conveyor. They need to bear the tension of the conveyor belt and the weight of the material, while also adapting to the working requirements of long-term continuous operation. Although the bearings on the idlers are small in size, they are numerous in number, and their performance directly affects the running resistance and noise level of the belt conveyor.

Cranes and vehicles: Various types of bearings are widely used in the lifting, running and rotating mechanisms of cranes. For example, the bearings on the lifting reel need to bear a lot of tension, while the bearings on the running wheels have to bear the weight of the crane and the impact load during operation.

The connection parts in the bridge structure for driving also require the use of bearings to achieve relative movement and rotation.

Application in iron and steel processing machinery

Shearing machine: The blade clearance adjustment mechanism of the shearing machine usually adopts precision linear bearings or ball screw bearings to achieve accurate clearance control and ensure the shearing quality. The gearbox and transmission shaft in the transmission system of the shearing machine are also inseparable from the support and transmission of various types of bearings.

Punch: The connection between the slider and the crankshaft of the punch press adopts large sliding bearings or rolling bearings, which bear high-frequency impact loads and reciprocating friction. Various rollers and drive shafts in the feeding mechanism of the punch press also need to use bearings to ensure the accuracy and stability of feeding.

Bearing selection and maintenance points

Selection basis: According to the working conditions and requirements of steel equipment, choose the appropriate bearing type, size and accuracy grade. For example, for high-speed rotating equipment, high-speed bearings should be selected; for heavy-duty equipment, bearings with strong load-bearing capacity should be selected. Considering the working environment factors, such as temperature, humidity, corrosiveness, etc., choose bearings with corresponding protective properties. For example, bearings working in humid environments should have good waterproof performance; bearings working in corrosive environments should be made of corrosion-resistant materials or special surface treatment.

Maintenance measures: Regularly check the running status of the bearing, including temperature, noise, vibration, etc., to detect abnormal conditions and deal with them in time. Keep the bearing clean to prevent dust, impurities, etc. from entering the inside of the bearing and affecting its normal operation. Regularly lubricate the bearing, choose the appropriate lubricant and lubrication method to ensure the good lubrication state of the bearing. For the bearing that has failed, it should be repaired or replaced in time to avoid the expansion of the failure and affect the normal operation of the equipment.
