Bearings have a wide range of critical applications in mining machinery, as detailed below:

Applications in mining equipment

Rock drill: The impact mechanism of a rock drill requires bearings that can withstand high-frequency impact loads. For example, specially designed roller bearings are used, which have high load-bearing capacity and impact resistance, which can ensure the high-speed reciprocating motion of the impact piston during the rock drilling process and achieve effective crushing of the rock. The rotating part of the rock drill is also inseparable from the support of bearings. The bearings here need to meet high speed and a certain axial load-bearing capacity to ensure the stable rotation and drilling of the drill bit.

Crusher: The connection between the moving jaw and the eccentric shaft of the jaw crusher usually uses large sliding bearings or rolling bearings. These bearings have to withstand huge crushing forces and impact forces, and at the same time ensure the smoothness of the swing motion of the moving jaw. For example, high-strength alloy bearing materials are used, and special heat treatment processes are used to improve the wear resistance and load-bearing capacity of the bearings. The rotational motion of the conical part of the cone crusher also depends on high-performance bearings. These bearings not only have to bear heavy loads, but also adapt to high-speed rotation and complex stress conditions. Their precision and reliability directly affect the working efficiency and product granularity of the crusher.

Conveyor: The driving drum and idler of the mine conveyor are equipped with bearings. The bearings of the driving drum need to bear large torque and radial loads to ensure the normal operation of the conveyor. For example, the use of large spherical roller bearings can accommodate a certain degree of installation error and axial displacement of the conveyor during the working process. The bearings of the idlers need to have good sealing and low friction coefficient to reduce operating resistance and energy consumption. At the same time, due to the harsh mine environment, the idler bearings also need to have dustproof, waterproof and corrosion resistance.

Application in mineral processing equipment

Ball mill: The cylinder of the ball mill is supported on the base by large sliding bearings or rolling bearings at both ends. These bearings need to bear huge weight and rotational torque, while also ensuring the smooth operation of the cylinder. For example, the use of self-aligning bearings can automatically adjust the axis deviation caused by cylinder deformation or installation errors to ensure the normal operation of the ball mill. The transmission part of the ball mill usually uses gear transmission, and the bearings on the gear shaft also play a key role. These bearings need to withstand large torque and impact loads, and to ensure the correct meshing and transmission accuracy of the gears.

Flotation machine: The stirring mechanism of the flotation machine requires the use of bearings that can work stably in a liquid environment. These bearings are usually made of corrosion-resistant materials and must have good sealing properties to prevent mineral slurry from entering the inside of the bearing. For example, deep groove ball bearings or angular contact ball bearings with special sealing structures can not only meet the rotation requirements of the stirring shaft, but also effectively prevent mineral slurry leakage. The scraper mechanism of the flotation machine also requires the support of bearings. The bearings here need to have less running resistance and high reliability to ensure that the scraper can smoothly scrape out the foam product.

Enhance the application in the device

Mine hoist: The connection between the drum and the main shaft of the hoist requires the use of large rolling bearings or sliding bearings. These bearings have to bear huge lifting forces and axial loads, while also ensuring the safe and reliable operation of the hoist. For example, the use of multiple rows of cylindrical roller bearings or large thrust bearings can meet the requirements of the hoist under heavy load and high speed operating conditions. The gear shaft and transmission shaft in the reducer of the hoist are also inseparable from the support of bearings. These bearings need to have high precision and load-bearing capacity to ensure the transmission efficiency and working stability of the reducer.

Winch: The bearings on the reel and drive shaft of the winch need to withstand high tension and torque, while also adapting to frequent starting and braking. For example, the use of special winch bearings with braking devices can quickly brake in emergency situations to ensure the safe operation of the winch. The bearings in the winch's operating mechanism need to have high flexibility and reliability to ensure that the operator can accurately control the speed and direction of the winch.

Bearing selection and maintenance points

Selection principle: According to the working conditions and requirements of mining machinery, choose the appropriate bearing type. For example, for heavy-duty and impact load equipment, roller bearings should be selected; for high-speed equipment, ball bearings or high-precision roller bearings should be selected. Considering the particularity of the mine environment, such as dust, moisture, corrosiveness, etc., choose bearings with corresponding protective properties. For example, use bearings with sealing devices to prevent dust and moisture from entering the bearing interior; choose corrosion-resistant bearing materials to adapt to the chemical corrosion environment in the mine. Choose the appropriate bearing size and accuracy grade according to the installation space and accuracy requirements of the equipment.

Maintenance measures: Regularly check the operating status of the bearing, including temperature, noise, vibration, etc. By monitoring these parameters, the abnormal condition of the bearing can be found in time, such as overheating, abnormal noise or excessive vibration, etc., and take corresponding measures for repair or replacement. Keep the bearing clean and lubricated. Regularly clean the bearing, remove dirt and impurities on the surface, and add an appropriate amount of lubricating oil or grease. In the mine environment, there is a lot of dust and impurities, so it is necessary to strengthen the sealing and protection of the bearing to prevent contaminants from entering the inside of the bearing. For damaged bearings, it is necessary to replace them in time. When replacing the bearing, it is necessary to strictly follow the operating procedures to ensure the installation quality and accuracy. At the same time, the relevant parts should be inspected and maintained to ensure the normal operation of the entire equipment.
